Are you ready for The Oscar’s? Because we are! We have our popcorn and soda all set up to watch the four-hour awards show.
We are very excited to see Billy Crystal back on the scene to host his ninth Oscar’s! Personally, we think he’s is the best host that there is for the awards.
Another thing that excites us about this year’s Oscar’s is the fact that the films competing in the category for “The Best Picture” have been filmed in various US and international locations, which add a beautiful spectacle to the films. (Wouldn’t you agree?)
Here’s where the nominees were filmed:
Hugo was filmed at London’s Shepperton Studios as well as on locations in London, Paris and the Nene Valley Railway near Peterborough.
Moneyball was filmed in Oakland. Filming locations included Fenway Park, the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum, Dodger Stadium and Blair Field, while studio shooting took place at Sony’s Culver City studios.
The Descendants began its on-location shoot in Hawaii. Most of the film was shot in Honolulu and around Hanalei Bay. For the scene, where the King family drives up to a ridge to look over their beautiful land, the film used a 3,000-acre private cattle ranch on the south shore of Kauai, Kipu Ranch.
Midnight in Paris was filmed, obviously, in Paris, France.
The Artist was filmed entirely in Los Angeles. Here’s the list of the locations.
War Horse’s filming took place in UK: north Hampshire, Dartmoor, Devon, and at the Wiltshire village of Castle Combe. After Castle Combe, the production moved on to Wisley Airfield in Surrey, where no man’s land battlefield scenes were filmed. Shooting of wartime camp scenes also took place at Bourne Wood near Farnham in Surrey, and the French scenes were shot in the UK, apart from some pick-up shots of a bay foal filmed in California.
The Tree of Life was filmed in Texas. Locations included Smithville, Houston, Matagorda, Bastrop, Austin, Dallas, and Waco.
The Help was filmed in Mississippi, USA.
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is especially a favorite of ours here at our New York office, because it was filmed in New York City. The scenes were shot on the streets of the Lower East Side and Chinatown.
If you are in New York this weekend, here’s the list of the places, where you can watch The Oscar’s.
